Reasons to get to know Windows Security Center

What's new with Windows 10 Security?
  • One of many things to like about Windows 10 Security Center is the striving to increase the users cyber awareness.
  • The Windows Security Center dashboard has an overview of your device security with practical suggestions, and other useful features that are built in: firewall settings, family options, account settings, and much more. Each is reasonably easy to use and follow. See the image below titled Security at a glance.
  • The Windows Security center is in a dashboard format, so you can see important protection and health aspects of your system at one glance, then easily go to each to explore.
  • In addition Windows Security provides comprehensive protection for your system with antivirus and malware protection.  When something isn't right, you'll be prompted with a suggested action to take.
  • Windows Security Center is an antivirus and malware protection that does not have the pesky annual reminders to renew a pay-subscription, so it's free and built into as a part of Windows 10, and you will not have to worry about downloading a separate software application.
  • That being said, do keep Windows 10 updated by ensuring auto updates are on, as sometimes we may turn that off and forget to turn it back on, and be sure to check in on things such as scan results, and do allow the firewall to stay on.
  • You'll be prompted with a notice if something is amiss with the overall security posture of your desktop or laptop, and a suggested action to take will be shown on the Windows Security Center dashboard that is intuitive to follow.
